What is Ballot A?
And why should I support it?
A significant portion of the EagleVail Metropolitan District’s funding comes from property taxes. These taxes are determined by the property values within EagleVail. Those property values can fluctuate significantly based on valuations from the county assessor and the assessment rates set by the state legislature- not the EVMD.
Between 2010 and 2015, property taxes decreased approximately 30% and did not recover to pre-recession levels until 2020.
That forced the district to defer maintenance and needed projects, allowing assets and amenities to deteriorate.
Ballot A fixes this situation by setting the amount of revenue at a base amount, removing the fluctuation of revenue and allows the Metro District to be proactive and too plan and implement operations and capital replacement matters on amenities instead of deferring them.
Which protects and maintains the value of assets and amenities and ultimately your property values.
An added bonus: for the 2022 tax year the owner of a home valued at $500,000 will save an estimated $26 in tax payments to EVMD.
